Chris Hughton is at Carrow Road for further talks with Norwich City as they close on his appointment as their new manager.
The former Newcastle boss quickly emerged as the leading candidate for the vacant post once Paul Lambert agreed to take the reins at Aston Villa.
Hughton spent the 2011/12 campaign working in the Championship with Birmingham City.
He guided them to the play-offs, but failed to secure an immediate return to the Premier League as the Blues came up short against Blackpool in the semi-finals.
Hughton could, however, be heading back to the top flight next term with Norwich.
It is understood that the Canaries have agreed a compensation package with Birmingham for the 53-year-old.
He was seen arriving at Carrow Road on Thursday morning and is expected to be confirmed as Norwich's new boss once all the loose ends of a deal have been tied up.
