Louis Saha has urged Laurent Blanc not to turn his back on France after the European Championship and take the job at White Hart Lane.
The former Bordeaux boss has breathed new life into a French side that was torn apart with in-fighting under previous manager Raymond Domenech and left the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa under a cloud.
Under Blanc though, France went on an unbeaten run that stretched to 23 games that was ended only with their 2-0 by Sweden on Tuesday and now he is believed to be on a list that includes Andre Villas-Boas to fill the vacancy left when Harry Redknapp departed Tottenham.
But Saha, whose short-term contract with the North London club ended recently, believes the time is not right for Blanc to move to the Premier League as he can still take France further.
"He's a top manager," Saha said. "He'll always have interest. I can imagine him being in the Premier League because of his experience.
"I want him to stay in the job for France because he has been doing a terrific job so I wouldn't like him to go to the Premier League yet."
The new-look France side under Blanc now faces a tricky quarter-final showdown with European and world champions Spain on Saturday night.
But Saha insists that the former Manchester United defender will use all his experience to pull off a tactical master-stroke against their technically gifted opponents.
"It was quite an achievement to qualify for a big game against Spain. It feels like a great achievement," Saha added.
"Technically and tactically we have to be in top form and the manager has to have a big role in that.
"Physically you can be closer to the Spanish players. You have to find the right formation and I believe Laurent Blanc will definitely change his formation.
"The expectation was to play a better style of football after the World Cup in 2010."
