Federico Balzaretti: Palermo have rejected an enquiry from Napoli for the Italy international
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has reiterated that Federico Balzaretti will not be leaving after rebuffing an approach from Napoli for the defender.
Zamparini revealed earlier this week that he is keen to tie Balzaretti down to a new contract after confirming team-mate Matias Silvestre is set to join Inter Milan.
Napoli have shown an interest in signing Balzaretti, but Zamparini has insisted that the left-back will not be joining their Serie A rivals.
"The only club that has asked me for Balzaretti is Napoli," Zamparini told Italian radio station Radio Radio.
"(Napoli president Aurelio) De Laurentiis called me and asked if it was possible to sell Balzaretti to Napoli and I told him that the player would remain at Palermo."
The 30-year-old, who has also been linked with AC Milan, is currently on international duty with Italy at the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.
