Steven Gerrard has admitted he would be happy if England secured a draw against France in their opening game of Euro 2012.
The Three Lions skipper claims a point would signal a good result for Roy Hodgson's men, with games against Sweden and co-hosts Ukraine to come.
The Liverpool midfielder also insists Les Bleus remain the red hot favourites to win Group D.
"A win would be fantastic, but if we avoid defeat we've got off to a good start," Gerrard told ITV ahead of the game in Donetsk.
"They're a fantastic team, we're the underdogs."

Gerrard has also challenged England to overcome the loss of several key players when they take on Laurent Blanc's talented outfit.
Gerrard said: "People say there is less pressure because of the injuries but what we've got to do as players is share the responsibility around the group.
"Any squad would miss the likes of Frank Lampard, Gareth Barry, Gary Cahill but you have to cope.
"Other squads are suffering similar things. You have to cope and get on with it and we're really confident we can do well in this competition."
