Richard Dunne did not train with his Republic of Ireland team-mates in Gdynia on Monday afternoon.
The Aston Villa defender watched from the sidelines as the rest of the squad was put through a gentle session in the wake of Sunday night's 3-1 Group C defeat by Croatia.
Dunne was limping as he left Poznan's Municipal Stadium after the game, which leaves Ireland with an uphill task of qualifying.
Manager Giovanni Trapattoni will hope he recovers in time for Thursday night's crucial encounter with holders Spain in Gdansk.
