Russia coach Dick Advocaat insists his side played well despite crashing out of Euro 2012 with a shock 1-0 defeat to Greece.
Greece captain Giorgos Karagounis scored the only goal of the game on his 120th cap deep into first-half stoppage time as Russia paid for a number of missed chances.
Aleksandr Kerzhakov started up front but was replaced by Roman Pavlyuchenko at half-time having once again failed to hit the target.
The game was Advocaat's last in charge of Russia but he was defiant in defeat, insisting his side played well and are unlucky not to be in the final eight.

Compliments

"We went forward," Advocaat said.
"The other team just defended. We didn't put away our chances but I don't think it's fair to say that we didn't play well.
"We were undefeated for 16 games. We should have won today, that wasn't the case and that is football.
"All compliments to Greece."
