Sky Sports understands Scunthorpe have agreed a deal to sign former Bristol City defender Christian Ribeiro.
Scunthorpe revealed earlier this week they were close to signing two mystery players and Ribeiro is meant to be one of the unnamed players.
Ribeiro is looking for a new club after leaving Bristol City earlier this summer upon the expiration of his contract.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a two-month loan spell at Glanford Park last season and Iron boss Alan Knill is keen to be reunited with the full-back.
The Wales international is expected to undergo a medical at Scunthorpe on Monday before finalising his move to the League One outfit.
