Rochdale have completed the loan signing of Blackburn youth team captain Ryan Edwards.
The 18-year-old defender will spend six months in League Two with John Coleman's outfit.
"It is a brilliant opportunity for Ryan," said Rovers' reserve team boss Gary Bowyer on his club's official website. "To step up from last year's successful youth team and, under the guidance of John Coleman, we know he'll be looked after well there.
"Hopefully he'll be playing in the first team and getting regular first-team football, which will be fantastic for him."
Edwards could be in line to face his parent club when Blackburn travel to face Dale in a pre-season friendly on July 25.
The signing continues the recent flurry of activity at Spotland, with Kevin McIntyre and Joe Rafferty signed on Monday morning before Scottish midfielder Marc Twaddle was released in the afternoon.
