Wayne Rooney claims to be feeling refreshed after an end of season break and says he will be raring to go once freed to begin his Euro 2012 campaign.
The Manchester United striker has been included in England's 23-man squad for this summer's European Championship despite being suspended for their first two group games.
That means he will not figure in Roy Hodgson's plans until the ThreeLions face co-hosts Ukraine on 19th June.
Rooney will miss meetings with France and Sweden as a result of a red card picked up against Montenegro in qualifying, but claims he has made peace with his upcoming ban.
He told Sky Sports News HD: "I've had a nice rest and I probably needed that rest. Being back amongst the squad and training the last few days, I feel good. We have got a few weeks now until I can play so I can get a good few weeks training in and be ready for the game if needed.
"It's important that I do my training right and get the work I need out of those training sessions. I've had a long time to think about missing those first two games. It's disappointing but it's something I've dealt with. I'm just looking forward to the first game for the lads and hopefully we can get a good result out of that."

Plans

Rooney is grateful to new England boss Hodgson for involving him in his Euro 2012 plans, as he could have had few arguments were he overlooked.
He added: "Missing the first two games, you never know whether a new manager has got you in his plans or whether he wants players who can be involved in all of the games. It was nice to hear that straight away and get myself ready and as fit as I can be."
On England's chances in Poland and Ukraine, with expectations lower than they have been in the past, Rooney said: "Everyone knows it's a tough group, there are some tough teams in the group, and I think every group is a tough group. We have to be focused on every game, take each game as it comes and hopefully get the points we need to take us through the group and then take it from there.
"We have got a lot of young players in the squad as well, which is great to see a lot of energy and freshness in the squad. Hopefully that can be a help to us."
Hodgson has been thrown in at the deep end after succeeding Fabio Capello as national team coach, with the Italian having overseen a successful qualification campaign, but Rooney says the new man at the helm has settled quickly into his post.
He said: "I've only been here a couple of days but you can see that he's determined to get his message across to us. On the training pitch he's very much part of every session, he's doing every minute of every session. It's great to have him on the pitch and pointing out things that maybe we needed as a squad."
